BUNNY, writer/director Mia Trachinger's award-winning first feature, tells the story of Nik and Luda, refugees who flee a civil war in their homeland, leaving behind all their worldly possessions and precious memories. As they search for stability in a new, impersonal country, their first job at an experimental public works project asks them to don bunny suits, hop on street corners, and act as comfort strangers to the city's emotionally damaged population.
Why It's FilmBuff
You know how everyone in the world has problems or anxieties constantly streaming through their heads? What if there were people dressed up as pink bunnies standing on the street waiting for you to tell them your problems to relieve your anxiety? If you like that idea, you will love this movie. It explores the idea of people saying their fears and worries out loud to someone who is only hired to listen. And dress like a bunny.
