Why It's FilmBuff
At FilmBuff, we feel inspired by the way actor-cum-director Diego Luna shows a young boy’s journey after being released from a mental health ward. In an unusual and hilarious take on something so tragic, Abel finds comfort in becoming the man of the house—literally. This is a story about broken homes, growing up too quickly, and how we cope with both. As a film about the people of Mexico by a Mexican filmmaker, a strong sense of authenticity is borne out of this film, and we love how this film will speak to families of Mexico as well as those around the world.
